School Yr Youth Program: High School scholastic/PE combination= "Destination Graduation" started in 2006 for Oakland Street Academy, an OUSD alternative High School. Afterguard provides a 'stay in school' insentive with STEM based programming. Supported by: Wonderful volunteers, Marvin Jackson retired Marine Water Survival Trainer and OPD. A group of USCG Chiefs group led by active USCG CEO James Angelo, help teach students how to sail and how to restore and care for boats. Kevin Dundon - substitute CA teacher and Afterguard member. Learn to Sail for All Levels: Afterguard provides an wide array of excellent courses: 'Only at Afterguard', American Sailing Association (ASA) certification series and Power options. 'Only at Afterguard' courses offer an affordable place to start, a chance to fill in learning steps from other 'fast-track' schools or to build confidence in the more adventurous skills. Boat Rentals - Afterguard offers boat rentals of 12-62' including; small boats, keelboats, Catamaran and power boats once certified or have the skills that can be proved it in a straight-forward check-out. Charters: Boating is a fantastic activity for individuals or the whole family. Give sailing a try via a 3hr sails plying the beautiful San Francisco Bay waters followed by wine-tasting at the harbor's nearby urban winery. A romantic and simply relaxing option is our Sparkling Sunset Cruise. If want to learn a bit, all are welcome to help sail - most of our Charter Captains are also cdertified sailing instructors.Three locations to sail from, Treasure Isle, EB-Jack London Square or our home port of EB-Central Basin. East Bay sailing is 10-15 degrees warmer. Any part of SF Bay provides interestng fun sailing. Afterguard is The "No Yelling" School. Sailing is fun. We share that love, passion and and are happy to impart knowledge to take folks from fear to excitment quickly. When the going gets dicey. We show how to handle all conditions.
